ACTIVITIES THROUGH OUT THE YEAR

  • MONTHLY MEETINGS

We meet the second Sunday of every month. You can fly yourself, drive or fly along with another 99s. We promote friendship, camaraderie and mutual support.

  • FLY-INS

Either educational or adventurous by nature. By flying frequently our members sharpen their skills, expand their personal minimuns while bolstering confidence and maintain the required currency.

  • LET'S FLY NOW!

Is a Ninety-Nines' signature introductory flight program developed in 2018.  Let's Fly Now! targets females of flying age (although men and children may be flown, too). Airplanes, fuel, and time are donated by Ninety-Nines, Friends of The Ninety- Nines, and other properly certified pilots for the introductory flights.

  • SAFEE FLIGHT

We partner with SAFEE Flight, a non-profit organization, twice a year to educate the community about career opportunities in the aviation industry and inspire the younger generation to become Pilots. During the month of April The South Florida Air Expo is a two day event attracting families and schools from South Florida, introducing over 5,500 to aviation. In September, The Florida Marlins Aviation Day is another opportunity to engage the community.

  • AIR MARKING

Since the early 1900s the 99s have participated in Air Marking, the painting of compass rose symbols, airport names and other identifications on top of buildings and other structures to aid in the navigation of early aviators to easily find their way back to the airport. The 99s continue the tradition to this day.

  • COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Throughout the year our members attend events to help spread our love of aviation to youth. Professional members give presentations demonstrating their path to become a pilot while other members teach parts of the airplane, the aviation alphabet, and basic navigation.

We are collaborating with local Girl Scouts Troops to introduce the girls to aviation. This is an ongoing initiative.

  • WITCHES FLY-IN

Every October our chapter joins other 99s chapters to celebrate Halloween by flying in costume. A prize is given for the best costume.
